It’s a Wonderful Life

I found this movie on several lists such as  ‘Best movies ever made’,’America’s 100 best movies’ etc so thought I should definitely try to see it sometime. Finally watched it a few days back and liked it very much.

Here’s a brief description of the story.

It’s a Wonderful Life is a heartwarming 1946 American movie, starring James Stewart in the lead(the actor in Vertigo).

At some point, most people are confronted with the thought of what their real purpose in life is sometimes we tend to undermine our own capabilities and noble actions. The story is all about how George Bailey(James Stewart), a compassionate yet frustrated businessman, who is on the verge of committing suicide meets this Angel from heaven who shows him what the world would’ve been like, had he never been born. Bailey then realizes the significance of all his actions and deeds so far and how one life touches so many other lives, and  finally agrees that It indeed has been a Wonderful Life.

This is one line I liked in the movie- “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”

Do try to watch the movie sometime 🙂 and let me know how you liked it!

  1. Hmmm-makes us all think about that. We make some difference or influence the lives of so many others, knowingly or not. It is good to once in a while pause and introspect our actions-think it’ll make our existence seem much more meaningful :).
